I told you in my last blog about the wonderful Pakistani evening I had with my friend Laila who is half-Pakistani and a very dear friend of me.
We not only made that delicious Pakistani vegan & raw food I introduced you to, we even had a wonderful Pakistani celebration.
Laila brought some awesome Pakistani incense which made us feel like we were preparing our meal in the middle of a Pakistani market. And of course we listened to nice Pakistani and indian music the whole evening.
If you are trying those recipes I suggest you do the same. It just belongs together!
But now let´s going on with our Pakistani dessert – Raw Vegan Burfi! *yummy*
Raw Vegan Burfi
- 1 1/2 cups cashews
- 1 cup almonds
- 1 1/2 – 2 cup raisins or/and dates
- cardamom powder to taste (don´t be shy with it)
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- optional: vanilla
- optional: coconut flakes
Use a blender or a food processor to grind the nuts. Add the salt, vanilla and the cardamom. Add the raisins and dates and pulse carefully until you have a thick, sticky paste. You can make small balls out of it or whatever shape you like.
Afterwards you can roll the pieces in coconut flakes or you top each piece with whatever you’d like – for example walnuts, pecans, almonds aso.
Oh and we had a delicious smoothie as well, Laila reminded me – banana, pineapple and watermelon! Try it out! It´s fabulous! 🙂
